Let's Talk About It - Women of Carolina Book DIscussion Series

Let’s Talk About It was created to promote the development of reading and discussion programs in America’s public libraries. However, it is not your average book club! LTAI provides participants with a series of books on the same topic or theme and a scholar to facilitate discussion and understanding.

The Women of Carolina Series features five of the Palmetto State’s most famous female writers, from South Carolina’s only Pulitzer Prize winner in fiction Julia Peterkin to national bestseller Sue Monk Kidd. Written about South Carolina women and by South Carolina women, these books and poems will illuminate the experience of women in our state. This series is based on the South Carolina Literary Map, created by the Palmetto Book Alliance.

This book discussion series will be held on the following Sunday afternoons, 2 – 4 p.m.:

January 13th - The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd
January 27th - Bastard Out of Carolina, by Dorothy Allison
February 10th – Clover, by Dori Sanders
February 24th - Scarlet Sister Mary, by Julia Peterkin
March 9th - The World Is Round, by Nikky Finney

Everyone is welcome!
